This is a freeze frame from the film "The Waterboy" (1998). This freeze frame is of a close-up in the film and shows the waterboy (the main character) and is showing a close up of the characters angry face. It uses this close up to focus the main attention on the character and to show the characters face in detail and emphasise the emotion that the chracter is showing which is anger. This close-up is also effective because it shows us that his eyes are fixed on soemthing which means we know something is going to happen next.

  1. Only one shot analysed - the other? Analysis is pretty sound - you could explore the mise-en-scene futher - i.e. meanings of props / costume?
